Who we are:
We are an independent Baptist church affiliated to the Association of Grace Baptist Churches (West Anglia).
What we do.
We use the Praise! and the Christian Hymns (new edition). In the morning service, Pastor Evers gives a special talk to the children. Once a fortnight the Children’s Group meets during the morning sermon. Because we believe that the Bible is God’s Word, we listen every Sunday, morning and evening, to the preaching of sermons. The sermons normally consist of a series from a book of the Bible or a selected theme. The pastor aims to show the relevance of God’s Word to our daily lives. We use the New King James version of the Bible.
The Lord’s Supper (Communion) follows evening worship on the 1st Sunday evening and follows the morning service when there is a 5th Sunday in the month. We also hold the Lord’s Supper on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.

We believe …
That every word of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation is God’s Word. We base what we believe and how we behave on what God has said.
There is one God in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. All three are co-equal and co-eternal.
That God the Father chose believers before time, not because of foreseen merits, but because of God’s sovereign grace. God the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, died not to make salvation possible for all but to secure the salvation of his elect. We also believe that the gospel should be preached earnestly to all. God has a genuine love for sinners and a sincere desire that they should seek him for mercy. We believe in ‘the free offer of the gospel’.
That we are born with a sinful nature, therefore we deliberately break God’s rules given to us in The Ten Commandments. Our sins merit eternal punishment in hell. However, God sent his own Son, Jesus Christ, to die as our substitute. God punished his Son in the place of all who repent of their sins. A Christian is someone who trusts in Christ alone for the pardon of sins and for acceptance with God. A Christian pleases God on earth and will spend eternity with God in heaven.
That the church consists of all those who have repented of their sins and trusted Christ for the salvation of their sins. Only believers may join the church. At present, we have a pastor, Stan Evers, an elder, Joe King and a deacon, Alan Battson. We encourage every member to serve the Lord.
That every Christian should be baptised. Baptism is the total immersion of a believer in water – a picture of the washing of sin in Jesus’ blood. We practise ‘strict communion’ – only baptised Christians may take part in the Lord’s Supper. By eating the bread and drinking the wine, we remember Christ’s death on the cross.
That at the end of the world Jesus Christ will come again. Believers will live forever with him in heaven. Unbelievers will live forever in hell. Both heaven and hell are everlasting.
